Ingredients
- 🥩450 g beef flank steak
- 🍝225 g lo mein noodles
- 🥦1 cup broccoli florets
- 🥕1 cup sliced carrots
- 🫑½ cup sliced bell pepper
- 🍶¼ cup soy sauce
- 🦪2 tbsp oyster sauce
- 🧴1 tbsp sesame oil
- 🧄2 cloves garlic, minced
- 🫚1 tbsp fresh ginger, grated
- 🍚1 tbsp cornstarch
- 🌻2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 🧅2 green onions, sliced
Pro tips
- For extra flavor, add a dash of rice vinegar or a pinch of red pepper flakes to the sauce.
- Don't overcrowd the pan when cooking the beef; cook in batches if necessary to ensure proper browning.
- Feel free to customize the vegetables based on what you have on hand, such as snap peas or mushrooms.
Method
- 1Slice beef flank steak against the grain into thin strips. In a bowl, toss beef with 1 tablespoon soy sauce and cornstarch. Let marinate for 15 minutes.
- 2Cook lo mein noodles according to package directions. Drain, rinse with cold water, and set aside.
- 3In a small bowl, whisk together remaining soy sauce, oyster sauce, and sesame oil to create the lo mein sauce.
- 4Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add beef and stir-fry until browned and cooked through, about 3-5 minutes. Remove beef from skillet and set aside.
- 5Add garlic, ginger, broccoli, carrots, and bell pepper to the same skillet. Stir-fry for 3-5 minutes until vegetables are crisp-tender.
- 6Return cooked beef to the skillet with the vegetables. Add the cooked noodles and pour in the lo mein sauce.
- 7Toss everything together until well combined and heated through. Garnish with sliced green onions before serving.
