Ingredients
- 🌱500 g frozen edamame in pods
- 🧂½ tsp sea salt
- 💧¼ cup water
Pro tips
- For extra flavor, try a dash of garlic powder or a squeeze of lemon juice after cooking.
- Do not overcook the edamame; it should remain slightly firm with a vibrant green color.
- If you prefer, you can steam on the stovetop: place edamame in a steamer basket over boiling water for 5-7 minutes.
Method
- 1Place the frozen edamame pods into a microwave-safe bowl.
- 2Add 1/4 cup of water to the bowl.
- 3Cover the bowl with a microwave-safe lid or plate, leaving a small vent.
- 4Microwave on high for 3-5 minutes, or until the edamame is hot and tender.
- 5Carefully remove the bowl from the microwave. Drain any excess water.
- 6Sprinkle with sea salt and toss to coat evenly.
- 7Serve warm and enjoy by squeezing the beans out of the pods.
