Ingredients
- 🍤450 g shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 🍝340 g linguine or spaghetti
- 🧈60 ml unsalted butter
- 🧄6 cloves garlic, minced
- 🍶30 ml soy sauce
- 蚝15 ml oyster sauce
- sesame15 ml sesame oil
- 🍯5 g brown sugar
- 🍋30 ml fresh lemon juice
- 🧀30 g Parmesan cheese, grated
- 🌶️ black pepper, to taste
- 🌿2 g fresh parsley, chopped for garnish
Pro tips
- For an extra kick, add a pinch of red pepper flakes with the garlic.
- Don't overcook the shrimp; they cook quickly and can become rubbery.
- Freshly grated Parmesan cheese makes a big difference in flavor.
Method
- 1Cook the linguine according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside, reserving 1/2 cup of pasta water.
- 2While pasta cooks, melt butter in a large skillet or wok over medium heat. Add minced garlic and cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
- 3Add shrimp to the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes per side, or until pink and opaque. Remove shrimp from the skillet and set aside.
- 4In the same skillet, whisk together soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, brown sugar, and lemon juice. Bring to a gentle simmer.
- 5Add the cooked pasta to the sauce, tossing to coat evenly. If the sauce is too thick, add a splash of the reserved pasta water.
- 6Return the cooked shrimp to the skillet with the noodles. Add Parmesan cheese and black pepper, tossing gently to combine.
- 7Serve immediately, garnished with fresh chopped parsley.
