Ingredients
- 🥫1 can chickpeas (garbanzo beans), 15oz, drained and rinsed
- 🌰¼ cup tahini
- 🍋2 tbsp fresh lemon juice
- 🧄2 cloves garlic, minced
- 💧2 tbsp cold water
- 🌿½ tsp ground cumin
- 🧂¼ tsp salt
- 🌶️0 tsp paprika, for garnish
- 🥒2 medium cucumbers
Pro tips
- For extra creamy hummus, remove the skins from the chickpeas before processing.
- Adjust the amount of garlic and lemon juice to suit your taste preference.
- Hummus can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
Method
- 1Combine drained chickpeas, tahini, lemon juice, minced garlic, cold water, cumin, and salt in a food processor.
- 2Process until very smooth, scraping down the sides as needed. If the hummus is too thick, add more cold water, one tablespoon at a time, until desired consistency is reached.
- 3Taste and adjust seasonings if necessary, adding more salt or lemon juice to your preference.
- 4Peel and cut the cucumbers into evenly sized sticks for dipping.
- 5Transfer the hummus to a serving bowl, drizzle lightly with olive oil (optional), and sprinkle with paprika.
- 6Serve immediately with the fresh cucumber sticks.
