Ingredients

  • 🧈¾ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 🍚½ cup granulated sugar
  • 🍯¾ cup packed light brown sugar
  • 🥚2 large eggs
  • 🍦1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 🌾1 ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • 🧂1 tsp baking soda
  • 🍂1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 🧂½ tsp salt
  • 🥣3 cup old-fashioned rolled oats
  • 🍇1 cup raisins

Pro tips

  • Do not overbake these cookies; they should be slightly soft in the middle for that perfect chewy texture.
  • For extra spice, add a pinch of nutmeg or ground cloves to the dry ingredients.
  • If your butter isn't soft, microwave it for 10-15 seconds, being careful not to melt it completely.

Method

  1. 1Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. 2In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. 3Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. 4In a separate medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt.
  5. 5Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. 6Stir in the old-fashioned oats and raisins until evenly distributed throughout the dough.
  7. 7Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  8. 8Bake for 8-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the centers are still soft. Let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
