Ingredients
- 🧀200 g paneer
- 🫘100 g soya chunks
- 🧅1 onion, large
- 🍅2 tomatoes, medium
- 🫚1 inch ginger
- 🧄3 cloves garlic
- 🌻2 tbsp cooking oil
- 🌿1 tsp cumin seeds
- 🍚1 tsp coriander powder
- 🟠½ tsp turmeric powder
- 🌶️1 tsp garam masala
- 💧½ cup water
- 🥛½ cup fresh cream
- 🍞4 whole wheat rotis
- 🧂 salt, to taste
- 🌿 fresh coriander, for garnish
Pro tips
- For a spicier kick, add a green chili with the ginger-garlic paste.
- You can pan-fry the paneer cubes lightly before adding them for a slightly firmer texture.
- Adjust the consistency of the curry by adding more or less water according to your preference.
Method
- 1Soak soya chunks in hot water for 15 minutes, then squeeze out excess water and set aside.
- 2Chop onion, ginger, and garlic finely. Puree tomatoes.
- 3Heat oil in a pan, add cumin seeds. Once they splutter, add chopped onion, ginger, and garlic. Sauté until golden brown.
- 4Add tomato puree, coriander powder, turmeric powder, and salt. Cook until the oil separates.
- 5Add soya chunks and water, cover, and simmer for 10 minutes.
- 6Stir in cubed paneer and garam masala. Cook for another 5 minutes.
- 7Remove from heat, stir in fresh cream, and garnish with fresh coriander.
- 8Serve hot with whole wheat rotis.
