Ingredients

  • 🧀200 g paneer
  • 🥔1 medium potato, boiled and mashed
  • 🌿¼ cup fresh coriander, chopped
  • 🌶️1 green chili, finely chopped
  • 🧄1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 🌰½ tsp cumin powder
  • 🧡½ tsp garam masala
  • 🌾2 tbsp besan (chickpea flour)
  • 🍋1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 🌻1 tbsp oil
  • 🧂 salt, to taste

Pro tips

  • For extra crispiness, you can brush a little oil on the tikkis before baking.
  • Ensure the paneer is fresh for the best texture and flavor.
  • Don't over-mash the potato; a little texture is fine.

Method

  1. 1Crumble the paneer into a large mixing bowl. Add the mashed potato, chopped coriander, green chili, ginger-garlic paste, cumin powder, garam masala, besan, and salt.
  2. 2Mix all ingredients well until a uniform dough-like consistency is formed. Add lemon juice and mix again.
  3. 3Divide the mixture into 12 equal portions. Shape each portion into a round or oval tikki (patty).
  4. 4Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F). Lightly grease a baking tray with oil.
  5. 5Place the tikkis on the greased baking tray, ensuring they are not touching.
  6. 6Bake for 12-15 minutes, then flip the tikkis and bake for another 10-12 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.
  7. 7Serve hot with mint chutney or tomato ketchup.
