Ingredients
- 🐖450 g pork loin
- 🥬1 head green cabbage
- 🧅1 onion
- 🧄3 cloves garlic
- 🫚1 inch fresh ginger
- 🍶3 tbsp soy sauce
- 🍯1 tbsp hoisin sauce
- 🍚1 tbsp rice vinegar
- Sesamöl1 tsp sesame oil
- 🌻1 tbsp vegetable oil
- 🌶️½ tsp red pepper flakes
- 🧂 salt and pepper, to taste
Pro tips
- Don't overcrowd the pan when cooking the pork; cook in batches if necessary to ensure good browning.
- Adjust the amount of red pepper flakes to your preferred spice level.
- For extra crunch, sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds or chopped green onions before serving.
Method
- 1Slice pork loin into thin strips. Season with salt and pepper.
- 2Core and chop the cabbage into bite-sized pieces. Slice onion, mince garlic, and grate ginger.
- 3In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, and sesame oil to make the stir-fry sauce.
- 4Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add pork and stir-fry until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Remove pork and set aside.
- 5Add onion to the same skillet and cook until softened, about 3 minutes. Add garlic, ginger, and red pepper flakes, cooking for another minute until fragrant.
- 6Add chopped cabbage to the skillet. Stir-fry for 5-7 minutes until tender-crisp.
- 7Return the cooked pork to the skillet with the vegetables. Pour the stir-fry sauce over everything.
- 8Toss well to combine and heat through, about 1-2 minutes. Serve immediately, optionally over rice.
