Ingredients

  • 🐖450 g pork loin
  • 🥬1 head green cabbage
  • 🧅1 onion
  • 🧄3 cloves garlic
  • 🫚1 inch fresh ginger
  • 🍶3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 🍯1 tbsp hoisin sauce
  • 🍚1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • Sesamöl1 tsp sesame oil
  • 🌻1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 🌶️½ tsp red pepper flakes
  • 🧂 salt and pepper, to taste

Pro tips

  • Don't overcrowd the pan when cooking the pork; cook in batches if necessary to ensure good browning.
  • Adjust the amount of red pepper flakes to your preferred spice level.
  • For extra crunch, sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds or chopped green onions before serving.

Method

  1. 1Slice pork loin into thin strips. Season with salt and pepper.
  2. 2Core and chop the cabbage into bite-sized pieces. Slice onion, mince garlic, and grate ginger.
  3. 3In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, and sesame oil to make the stir-fry sauce.
  4. 4Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add pork and stir-fry until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Remove pork and set aside.
  5. 5Add onion to the same skillet and cook until softened, about 3 minutes. Add garlic, ginger, and red pepper flakes, cooking for another minute until fragrant.
  6. 6Add chopped cabbage to the skillet. Stir-fry for 5-7 minutes until tender-crisp.
  7. 7Return the cooked pork to the skillet with the vegetables. Pour the stir-fry sauce over everything.
  8. 8Toss well to combine and heat through, about 1-2 minutes. Serve immediately, optionally over rice.
