Ingredients
- 🌱500 g frozen edamame pods
- 🧂½ tsp sea salt
Pro tips
- For extra flavor, you can add a pinch of garlic powder or a drizzle of sesame oil after steaming.
- Do not overcook the edamame; they should retain a slight bite.
- If fresh edamame is available, increase steaming time by 2-3 minutes.
Method
- 1Place a steamer basket in a pot with about an inch of water, ensuring the water does not touch the bottom of the basket.
- 2Bring the water to a rolling boil over medium-high heat.
- 3Add the frozen edamame pods to the steamer basket.
- 4Cover the pot tightly and steam for 5-7 minutes, or until the edamame are tender-crisp and bright green.
- 5Carefully remove the steamer basket from the pot and transfer the edamame to a serving bowl.
- 6Sprinkle evenly with sea salt and toss gently to coat.
- 7Serve warm and enjoy by popping the beans out of the pods.
